Happy New Year!

It's 2006!

The holidays are finished, and it's all over but the crying and the returning of bad gifts. What did you get that you wanted? What did you get that you didn't? What was the best and worst thing about the holidays this year?

2006 is going to be a year of growth. It is time to take charge of ourselves and our relationships with Jesus. The best way to get started is by simply opening our bibles and reading about the life of Christ. Hence: the New Testament Challenge!

The first challenge of 2006 is this: to read through the New Testament in the month of January. What's that you say? Impossible? Pfah! Here's the details...

1) Starting today, open up your bible to the book of Matthew, the first book in the NT.
2) Start reading. There is no set limit on how much or how little you read each day.
3) Continue to read straight through the NT during the month of January.
4) If you get stuck or have questions, quickly write them down and then move on. For January, the idea is quantity, not quality. (We'll get to quality later.)
5) At the end of January, we'll find the average point that everyone made it to. And there may even be recognition for those who finish!

If you are committed to taking the challenge, add your name in a comment on this post. Let's see awesome things happen in 2006!

I personally think this is impossibal for someone who is insainly busy and dons'nt even have enough time to get the right amount of sleep. About 4 hours on average a night. I agree that you should read or try to read every night but that much! Wow, it's an honorable goal but for some way to difficult. sorry!
