Winter Camp!

Winter Camp is coming! February 17, 18, and 19 at Fort Wilderness in Rhinelander, WI. It's always a blast! This year the theme is simply, "Go!" The heartbeat of Winter Camp is to inspire, instruct, and involve you in missions during the next year. Here are some of the opportunities that will be presented at Camp this year:

M:3 - March Missions Madness! We will focus a lot of our attention on reaching Christ in our own local region, since these are the people we already have relationship with. Each day in March we have a different challenge, beginning with prayer and culminating with an outreach event planned and led by our students.

Step Out 2006! Last year was an incredible success as we hit the streets of Madison with the gospel. The students who participated were challenged and grew in their desire and ability to share their faith. This year's location will be revealed at Winter Camp!

New Orleans! Last year New Orleans was devastated by hurricanes. After a year of searching, cleaning, and relocating, New Orleans is ready to rebuild, and we are going to help them. This trip, open to the entire district, will be led by our very own Brian Krause and Rich Gibbs! This will be a life-changing trip for you and the people we minister to.

Nicaragua! Steve Hohm is leading a trip to Nicaragua this summer and is going to share how you can join him on this incredible journey. Evangelism will be a key component of this opportunity.

Jesus gave us the vision. "When the Holy Spirit has come upon you, you will receive power and will tell people about me everywhere--in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." We are excited and ready to make a difference in our cities, states, nation, and world!

Winter Camp '06. It's gonna rock!

Happy New Year!

It's 2006!

The holidays are finished, and it's all over but the crying and the returning of bad gifts. What did you get that you wanted? What did you get that you didn't? What was the best and worst thing about the holidays this year?

2006 is going to be a year of growth. It is time to take charge of ourselves and our relationships with Jesus. The best way to get started is by simply opening our bibles and reading about the life of Christ. Hence: the New Testament Challenge!

The first challenge of 2006 is this: to read through the New Testament in the month of January. What's that you say? Impossible? Pfah! Here's the details...

1) Starting today, open up your bible to the book of Matthew, the first book in the NT.
2) Start reading. There is no set limit on how much or how little you read each day.
3) Continue to read straight through the NT during the month of January.
4) If you get stuck or have questions, quickly write them down and then move on. For January, the idea is quantity, not quality. (We'll get to quality later.)
5) At the end of January, we'll find the average point that everyone made it to. And there may even be recognition for those who finish!

If you are committed to taking the challenge, add your name in a comment on this post. Let's see awesome things happen in 2006!
