Invite Nite!!

Hey dude and dudettes, welcome to our Rockin' Invite nite blog! Here's the lowdown...

What is the purpose of an invite nite?
The purpose of invite nites are to invite people to Uturn! This is fun enough in itself, because the more people the more fun we can have! But there is also a deeper purpose. In the Bible, Jesus says he wants all people to find out about him. And we do too! Sunday nights we have a lot of fun, and we also explain (in understandable terms) who Jesus is and what he can mean for our lives. You want to know Jesus, don't you? Of course you do.

Where is invite nite?
Invite nites take place at Chapel Valley Community Church. Check out www.chapelvalley.org for details and directions.

Who can I invite to an invite nite?
Anyone who is currently in middle school or high school, at any school anywhere. Even Russia.

What should I bring to invite nite?
Other than anther friend, it helps if you bring your bible, so you can follow along with the verses. Most important is a good attitude and some energy! Also, if you have a Nintendo DS, bring that. We'll rock together. (See previous post.)

Anything else?
Nope. See you there!

Tetris DS has taken over my life...

Here's the deal. At first, I did not want a Nintendo DS, because I thought it looked stupid and I wasn't sure what the point was. Two screens? One is a 'touch screen'? Who cares?

But my wife got me one for my birthday, probably because she couldn't think of anything else. No big deal, I played some Tony Hawk and some Mario Brothers, and then I kind of lost interest.

Until March 21, 2006.

On March 21, 2006, Tetris DS was released to the general public. I got it the same day (it actually was a late birthday present from my mother-in-law), and have been playing it every chance I've had since then.

Now, it's not just about Tetris. I like a good game of Tetris as much as anyone, but I can't play it by myself for very long.

Playing against other people, however, is another story.

With the Nintendo DS, you can connect wirelessly to the internet and to the Nintendo Wi-fi system. You can then play against other people, and it keeps track of your overall ranking. Win, and you get a better ranking. Lose, and it gets worse.

I can't stop playing. Must...make...rank...better...

Seriously, this post is a cry for help.
