See You At The Pole '05!

2005 was a great year for See You At The Pole! We had students at four different schools including Memorial, East, Verona, and Toki. SYATP is a great opportunity not just to pray for our schools and our nation, but to also meet other Christians and to be a bold witness for Jesus.

Question: What is the Purpose of Church?

What do you think the purpose of church is?

Is it a time to gather together and learn to be like Jesus?
Is it effective meeting together just once a week?
Could we learn to be like Jesus at any other time?

If so, then what is the true purpose of church?

Question: Creation of Mankind

Here's a good one to ponder...

If God knows all things, even the future, then He can never be surprised by our actions. So God was not surprised at Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden when they disobeyed Him and ate from the tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, thus throwing Creation for a loop and breaking mankind's relationship with God. Luckily for us, God had a plan of restoring that relationship through the acts of Jesus as seen in the New Testament.

But if God wasn't surprised at the sin of Adam and Eve, and actually knew it was coming, how come He chose to still create them? Or why didn't He make them so they couldn't sin, or make it so the tree wasn't right there, or why didn't he post a guard at the tree?
